public emily is a women-run artist management company focused on empowering musicians to build long-lasting careers while fully supporting their integrity and authenticity. Founded by Emily Lichter in 2001, the company has since established an eclectic and attentively curated roster including four-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sarah Jarosz, Grammy Award-winning trio I’m With Her, legendary singer/songwriter Rickie Lee Jones, globally beloved soul/pop band Lake Street Dive and more (see Artists page for full roster).

After getting her start at a series of New York City-based record labels and public relations firms, Lichter founded public emily as an independent PR company but later widened its reach to include artist management. Soon after transitioning to a full-service management company, public emily experienced a major breakthrough with the 2012 addition of Lake Street Dive, then an up-and-coming act who had amassed a small but passionate following on the strength of their exhilarating live show. Revealing the high level of intentionality the company brings to all its endeavors, public emily navigated Lake Street Dive’s subsequent breakout success with a strategic eye toward the band’s long-term legacy. Today, public emily continues to defy industry convention for the sake of fostering sustainable career growth.

public emily’s team includes associate manager Zoe Ellis, merchandise specialist/associate manager Ryan Durocher, digital media specialist/associate manager Anna Watson, and tour production/logistics manager Jared Herman. Through the years, the company has limited its roster to a modest number of artists in the interest of upholding its most essential mission: providing hands-on and highly personalized service with a granular attention to detail, in order to optimally support our artists in realizing their creative vision.
